Local surf's UP at last

While staying in South Australia for the past year I have not seen many days where you can rave about the surf. During the past year there have been some good days and some not so good days.

However, recently we had a real gem! Well, that was last Friday 4th June.

Here are a couple of photos from Swellnet, a great Australian wave forecasting site.

Gunning it to get past the submerged rock - see foreground. Great wave! Great ride!

Sharing the stoke with more to come - see behind. Oh, to be there!

Unfortunately the great waves only lasted three days and we went back to more normal conditions. Ah well, there will be a next time.

Powerski Jetboard Igniter 330 Marketing Rollout
Regular readers might remember a feature we did back in May last year about the Jetboard. We received a recent email from them with news about their new model. It looks they have gone a long way forward with distributorships and performance. (Ed.)

New Production Igniter 330 PowerSki Jetboard Debut at the Miami Boat Show

PowerSki has prepared a fresh new look to introduce the new Igniter 330 PowerSki Jetboard. No longer will the images be of a prototype (beta) PowerSki Jetboard, but are of the actual PowerSki Jetboard that will soon be delivered to the public. Taking advantage of the proximity of Puerto Rico to Miami, we used that tropical paradise setting and its crystal blue waters for a spectacular film, video, and photo shoot. The images we captured are being used in our new promotional film, Shape Of Fun Is Here, and new brochure to market the crossover lifestyle of surfing and power surfing utilizing a PowerSki Jetboard.

Powerski Jetboard Igniter 330 Sales Momentum From Miami Boat Show

Additionally Powerski International Corporation has signed new distributors in several more countries as well as new dealers across the US recently. These new members of the PowerSki team will be added to web site in the near future.

The New Revolution is here

Many of the changes to the PowerSki Jetboard Igniter 330 were accomplished using PTCs Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire software on Hewlett Packard power work stations. Using their software to create a virtual PowerSki Jetboard in the computer, we were able to produce a completely symmetrical hull that will carve G-Force turns with greater ease and control, and alleviate the porpoising effect that a rider can experience when coming out of a tight G-Force turn. We even added a T-handle (pat. pend.) to the nose tip that makes lifting the jetboard much easier.

We were also able to reconfigure complex structural forms such as significantly lowering the deck hoods profile to an almost flat plane. Our inflatable seal has been redesigned to a smaller, yet tighter tolerance, and our snorkel design (pat. pend.), which had stymied our engineers for months, is now functional and effective.

Everything about the new PowerSki Jetboard Igniter 330 has been well worth the wait. Not only is it a work of art, but a dream to ride!

Mentawai Islands Surf Report: June 8, 2004

Thank You

I'd like to personally thank all of you who have visited our "Wave of Compassion" website and made a much appreciated donation to Surf Aid International. We've been live about two weeks now and are really starting to build some serious momentum. Our goal is to raise $100,000 US to help the people of the Mentawai's - the best part about this fundraiser is the fact that you have a very realistic chance of winning a trip to the Mentawai's yourself; have the entire thing covered by Surfer Magazine, and you get to surf with four genuinely nice, intelligent, and compassionate surfers, David Rastovich, Strider Wasilewski, Ben Bourgeois, and Jason Bogle.

I would love to see more of you get involved; if you enjoy these surf reports I'm positive you'll enjoy the Wave of Compassion website. For more information please visit: www.waveofcompassion.org/indexcolor.html

Thanks for your support!

Current Surf Conditions:

Right now the Indian Ocean is generating a massive amount of swell; we have waves in the head-high to two feet overhead range at most locations but the future outlook is very promising, almost frightening

Surf Forecast:

The largest swell of the year is headed for the Mentawai's right now. This swell was generated from a massive low that tracked upwards towards Indonesia before finally breaking up over the coast of Australia. Swell models have wave heights reaching triple-overhead plus. Jordan is calling it the "mother of all swells" and is planning a between trip tow session at Kandui Left; suicidal if you ask me but hopefully they get some footage to show the rest of us. We'll keep you posted on what goes down.

We've got another insane report from Dave Collyer and his latest trip on board the Wijaya with a group of surfers from California and the United Kingdom of all places. Either before or after you read his "wave log" I would highly suggest checking out his slide show presentation; he's outdone himself with this one. He's also said that he's going to go back and revamp his previous report so stay tuned and enjoy. homepage.mac.com/sickshots/Wijayamay/PhotoAlbum12.htm
