Gumby Lock launches at Cronulla beach

The Southside Malibu Club Inc held their annual Spring Classic on Saturday the 8th September in front of the North Cronulla SLSC on Cronulla beach.

There were over 100 competitors and the standard of the contestants was exceptionally high. The day started early with the best waves for the whole beach being in the contest area. Well done guys for making the right call early on in the day when the wind was on shore. The breeze turned off shore mid morning and offered nicely shaped 1-2 foot waves for the rest of the day that peeled off left and right from the take off zone.

Although the waves were small they were the right shape for some excellent nose riding. Many riders were stepping off the nose of their board onto the sand at the end of each ride.
