Not a plastic tray or a one-size-fits-all, mass produced toy, a Handboard Co. handboard is a distinctive, well-though out hand crafted body surfing handboard custom made to the surfer's specifications. The materials used to create each handboard are carefully chosen for beauty and durability allowing the owner to proudly enjoy his handboard for many years...and many, many waves. Each Handboard Company handboard begins with carefully selected domestic softwood. The classic elegance of Hawaiian Koa wood, or the traditional surfboard look of Redwood, or, maybe, the solid black strength of High-Tech Composite is chosen as the stringer material. After Lamination, the blank is traced with a template specifically sized to the surfer's forearm length. Cutting out, shaping and sanding are next. The black skegs, half foiled, with a low aspect ratio template, are then glassed on. Multiple coats of durable polyurethane finish are applied, then rubbed out to a high gloss. The finished board is beautiful. You can tell it's going to be fun and fast just looking at it. The Handboard Company |
